From dailykos.com:
Bush is at 50 percent [approval rating] or above in only 11 states -- Utah (63), Nebraska (60), Wyoming (58), Idaho (56), Montana (56), Alabama (54), Alaska (53), North Dakota (52), Kansas (51), Kentucky (50), Mississippi (50), and Texas (50).
Look at that roster of states. If you combined the populations of Utah, Nebraska, Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, Alaska, North Dakota, Kansas, you might not have as many people as reside in New York City.
Okay, that's no doubt an exaggeration, but you get my point. Among states with any population at all, there are only, what, four states in which Dubya's approval rating is fifty percent or higher? And three of those just made it under the wire at exactly fifty percent.
It's heartening that the red states are finally starting to catch on, but it's maddening as well. If all these voters who are now experiencing what Kos calls "buyer's remorse" had been paying the least little bit of attention leading into November, 2004, we wouldn't be stuck with three and a half more years of this evil empire.
There's been no great revelation in the past eight or nine months, no breakthrough story that revealed Bush, Inc., for the corrupt, inept bunch of thugs they are. The mainstream press has finally begun to grow a tiny pair, it's true, but they've hardly unleashed the hounds on Dubya and his henchmen.
Mr. and Ms. Middle America, you owe us -- big time. You weren't paying attention, and you got seriously scammed. Now, the rest of us are paying the price. That you now regret supporting these skunks matters very little, I'm afraid.
You owe us.
