Some long-time B&Y readers know that I've appeared on the wonderful radio program This American LIfe a couple of times. One of those appearances, in which Ira Glass and I discuss the events described in an essay I wrote entitled "My Life Among the Elite," was part of a TAL show called "The Kindness of Strangers." It's an episode that has re-aired more than once, and is, I'm led to understand, airing again this weekend.
My segment recounts an odd encounter I experienced on the NYC subway some years ago. I won't offer any more details so as to avoid spoiling the fun.
